Big Brother 2024 housemate lifts lid on ‘scripted’ scenes and this is TEA

It's a tale as old as time - are our reality telly faves just reading lines?

There are two things we love more than anything here at heat Towers; a reality star with little to no media training and a juicy AF celebrity Instagram Q&A. Put the two together and it's basically Christmas come early for a heatworld journalist.

So you can imagine our sheer joy at stumbling across Big Brother's Emma Morgan's newly-unlocked Instagram and losing our minds over her no-filtered responses to Big Brother 2024 fan questions.

One of which, asked, 'Were you prompted to have conversations within the house? Is it a bit scripted?' That's the kind of question a journalist would get a smack on the hand by a PR for asking - for as long as there have been reality shows, there has been speculation about whether the shows are scripted. Remember back in the day when everyone was convinced TOWIE was 100 per cent scripted because of the outrageous storylines? These days there's a general understanding that most of these shows are somewhat 'produced', but it's still an interesting topic.

And luckily for us – and our hand – a fan asked it and Emma responded and heatworld has escaped unscathed. Slay.

In true Emma fashion, she did not hold bag when recording her answer. To camera, Emma explained that although Big Brother is not 'scripted', one specific moment from the series could be considered as such – and it occured in the final few days.

'Do you remember [the task] where me and Hanah [Haji] were beauty therapists and we were asking questions and digging and stuff? I was particularly digging around Segun [Shodipo], asking him how he felt about Hanah and all the rest of it. We were told to do that by Big Brother.'

She then revealed that she was instructed to grill Segun about his feelings for Hanah using cards and questions provided by Big Brother.

Emma added, 'They even gave me a laminated card with questions to ask and I had to ask those questions. They then made me and Hanah do a debrief afterwards to tell each other what we’d learned, so it actually looked like I was doing a bit of shit stirring, but honestly, I wasn’t – I would have never done that off my own back.'

So, by definition, at least that section of this year's Big Brother was somewhat scripted. And we can't get in trouble because we didn't ask the question 💅.

Emma's response has vanished from her Instagram story.

We've said it once and we'll say it again: QUEEN.

Both Ben and Beary are awaiting an invite to join The Real Housewives of Cheshire for series 18. The budget's not there, but the drama is 💅.
