Eagle-eyed Love Island fans this year will have noticed the babein' lace-up heels ALL the girls are wearing during glam evenings in the villa.
The stylish lace-ups have been especially worn by the show's icon Ekin-Su Cülcüloglu and she has been spotted on countless occasions rocking strappy lace-up heels in a range of styles from classic black to metallic gold.
Wearing heels in the villa every night is a known safety hazard and we’ve seen many girls fall victim to the thin panels of the villa’s decking- remember Molly Mae Hague's infamous fall in season five and then Demi Jones in season six? However with no falls so far this series, the girls are confidently committing to the strappy heel look.
Although as effortless as Ekin-Su looks in her strappy heels, we saw in Love Island’s unseen bits that it doesn’t always come easy. In a clip on the terrace, fellow islander Paige Thorne gives Ekin-Su the low down on how to tie her heels correctly saying, “Start at the back, do a cross at the back, cross at the front and then criss cross.”
Gemma Owens and Tasha Ghouri were also on hand to help Ekin-Su out after she admitted not being able to tie shoelaces. Of course, there had to be something that Ekin-Su couldn’t do.
It’s not just the Love Island villa where we have seen the takeover of lace-up heels, the style has been a long-time favourite of Kim Kardashian and has also been seen recently on the likes of supermodel Elsa Hosk and Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry.
