We NEVER saw these coming

Love Island

Over the past few weeks, we’ve taken a look back at a load of our favourite Love Islanders; some loved-up, some savage break-ups and some living their best single lives.

One thing we still need to address, though, is some of the most brain-shatteringly-bonkers couples to have emerged after the show.

Yep – as the cast find themselves mingling with anyone who’s anyone on the celeb circuit after leaving the villa, they’ve been known to couple up with some familiar showbiz faces.

From reality telly inception to the UK’s biggest pop talent, check out the most unlikely post-Love Island pairings ever.

Zara McDermott and Sam Thompson

Made in Chelsea’s Sam had been on our screens and socials years before 2018 islander Zara was on our radar. But, after she split from series 4 fella Adam Collard, she began dating one of SW3’s most notorious lotharios.

They might’ve had a bit of a hiccup when the briefly split last year, but the pair are now stronger than ever and absolutely smashing the TikTok game. Props to ‘em.

Chris Hughes and Jesy Nelson

While, at the time, we’d kind of hoped Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood would live happily ever after, the couple’s split was for the best. And he only went on to date one of the country’s biggest popstars.

Chris coupled up with ex-Little Mix star Jesy Nelson back in 2019 and, although they’ve since called it a day, the pair remain on good terms as pals. Cute.

Laura Anderson and Dane Bowers

After a couple of unsuccessful relationships with Paul Knopps and 2015 winner Max Morley, Laura Anderson’s now back with actual Dane Bowers from Another Level.

The pair had previously dated before Laura appeared on the show, and now the stars have aligned for the couple once again as they’re make another go of things over in Dubai.

Rumours she told Dane she ‘don’t wanna be alone no more’ still unconfirmed.

Sorry, we’ll show ourselves out…

Megan Barton-Hanson and Demi Sims

We love Megan Barton-Hanson for being one of the only Love Island contestants ever to speak about her bisexuality. Following her split from ex-boyfriend Wes Nelson, Megan went on to date TOWIE’s Demi Sims following their stint on Celebs Go Dating.

Sadly, their next TV appearance together was on Eating with my Ex. Say no more.

Paige Turley and Lewis Capaldi

Okay, okay - we know that 2020 champ Paige dated Lewis Capaldi way before some found fame on Love Island, but that doesn’t leave us any less shook. While she’s properly loved-up with Finn Tapp these days, Paige was once with fellow Scot Lewis; and he even wrote Hold Me While You Wait about her. We’re not sure we’ll ever be over it, tbh.

We’ve coupled up with our mates at VOXI - the mobile network that gives you endless data for your socials – for heat’s Love After Love Island.

We've been joined by everyone from Megan Barton-Hanson and Jack Fincham to Luke Trotman and Siânnise Fudge throughout the series – so go back and catch up here.
