We're not sure quite how to break this to you, folks; but Love Island summer 2020 has officially been cancelled amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Following those whisperings of the next series of the show being filmed in the UK, ITV bosses have now confirmed our fave telly show won't air this summer as the ongoing COVID-19 means it's 'not logistically possible' to film safely.
Well that's a load less sponsored protein bar posts on our Instagram feeds over the next few months, eh?
Love Island couples: where are they now?
all love island couples CLOSER stacked
Hannah Elizabeth and Jonathan Clark (2015): SPLIT
So...onto the, errr, casualties

They had the first ever Love Island baby but in September 2018 they confirmed they'd split.
Jordan Ring and Zoe Brown (2015): SPLIT
Absolutely DID NOT work IRL. Neeext.
Jessica Hayes and Max Morley (2015): SPLIT
Still fancy Max in a huge way, not gonna lie.
Nathan Massey and Cara de da Hoyde (2016): STILL TOGETHER
Love Island 2016 winners Cara and Nathan were the stars of the show and went from strength to strength from the moment they set eyes on each other - aww. Now, they've got not one, but TWO little Love Island babies and and are very much happily married.
Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland (2016): STILL TOGETHER
Olivia and Alex were one of our absolute fave couples from Love Island's second season buuut, fun fact, they didn't actually couple up until almost three weeks in ud83dudc40.They're now married and literally as strong as ever. We like to live vicariously through them, to be honest.
Dom Lever and Jess Shears (2017): STILL TOGETHER
Jess was Love Island season three's 'bombshell' walk-in, and stole Dom from fellow Islander Montana Brown.Turns out, it was a smart decision because, these days, Jess and Dom are SO together, in fact, they got 'married' on Good Morning Britain on Valentine's Day 2017. They then got, y'know, properly married. And THEN, they welcomed a baby boy, aww.
Jamie Jewitt and Camilla Thurlow (2017): STILL TOGETHER
An absolute success story of Love Island 2017, Jamie and Camilla and Jamie are still the cutest of couples and, to top it all off, they're engaged and THEY'VE ONLY HAD A BLOODY BABY.
Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague: STILL TOGETHER
They faced an obstacle when Maura entered the villa and turned Tommy's head but he decided to stick with Molly-Mae and the rest is history...They surprisingly came runner up during the Love Island 2019 final but they're still very much happily in a relationship and they now live together in a PLUSH apartment in Manchester.
Paige Turley and Finn Tapp (2020): TOGETHER
Paige and Finn coupled up as soon as Finn entered the house as the one of the first boy bombshells and stayed thick as thieves throughout the whole series without even a hint of head turn. They've made things work on the outside, spending coronavirus lockdown at Paige's family home in Scotland, and have recently moved to Manchester. Finn's even been talking about proposing ud83dudc40.
Siânnise Fudge and Luke Trotman (2020): TOGETHER
Despite Siânnise struggling at the start thanks to her love rival Rebecca Gormley, Luke did eventually couple up with Siânnise and they remained together the whole time. They spent coronavirus lockdown in Luton with Luke's fam and have recently moved into a flat in the capital. They've even bought a puppy together.
Callum Jones and Molly Smith: TOGETHER
Callum broke the heart of fan favourite Shaughna Phillips when he returned to the main villa from Casa Amor with Molly. But the new couple turned out to be super sweet.Back in the UK, they are still going strong and, in November 2020, the pair moved in together.
Nas Masood and Eva Zapico: TOGETHER
The nation WASN'T pleased when Nas returned from Casa Amor with Eva, leaving Demi single, and the couple were the next to be booted. Despite spending lockdown apart, they met up (at a safe distance!) throughout the pandemic and have gone official with their relationship. From the looks of it, the pair have even moved in together.
Katie Salmon and Adam Maxwell (2016): SPLIT
Adam claimed he was '100 percent single' shortly after leaving the villa and, um, that was that. #Kadam; gone but never forgotten.
Rykard Jenkins and Rachel Fenton (2016): SPLIT
At least they lasted 18 months. Not bad going...
Scott Thomas and Kady McDermott (2016): SPLIT
Scott and Kady managed a year before splitting in 2017.
Malin Andersson and Terry Walsh (2016): SPLIT
He did date fellow Love Island-er Emma-Jane Woodhams eight months in actual real life before calling it a day. AH WELL.
Gabby Allen and Marcel Somerville (2017): SPLIT
Gabby dumped Marcel after he was apparently caught cheating as they holidayed TOGETHER. Blimey.
Sam Gowland and Georgia Harrison (2017): SPLIT
Sam seems to be doing alright for himself on Geordie Shore, so we don't think he's too gutted.
Olivia Attwood and Chris Hughes (2017): SPLIT
The couple were plagued with cheating rumours throughout their relationship (who can forget that whole Chris Hughes and Katie Price debacle?). Since their ITVBe show Crackin' On ended, Olivia's confirmed she's back with ex-boyfriend Bradley Dack and they're now engaged.
Tyla Carr and Jonny Mitchell (2017): SPLIT
Oh it was never gonna last, was it?
Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies (2017): SPLIT
TheLove Island2017 winners split in December 2017; five months after the finale. That said, a cheeky TikTok like has us thinking the pair might be reuniting in 2021...
Montana Brown and Alex Beattie (2017): SPLIT
These two split just weeks after returning to the UK. Sad times.
Sam Bird and Georgia Steel: SPLIT
You know how this one went. Sam accused Georgia of cheating on him with her ex, which she denied. It's safe to say they didn't split on the best of terms.
Zara McDermott and Adam Collard: SPLIT
Zara and Adam called it quits at the beginning of 2019. WAH. She's now dating Made in Chelsea's Sam Thompson.
Megan Barton-Hanson and Wes Nelson: SPLIT
Megan and Wesdidmove in together, but announced their split in January 2019 following rumours Wes was getting close toDancing on Icepartner Vanessa Bauer. Uh oh.
Josh Denzel and Kaz Crossley: SPLIT

Samira Mighty and Frankie Foster: SPLIT
Frankie reportedly cheated on Samira and that was that. Done. Over. thank u, next.
Laura Anderson and Paul Knops: SPLIT
There's no bad blood betweenLaura and Paul, but they split just months after making it to the final of the show.
Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer: SPLIT
Dani released a statement via Instagram Stories (how very 2018) announcing thewinning 2018 couple had SPLIT, before they got back together just days later. Hmm. However fast forward to April 2019 and Jack announced they'd split. Dani's had a baby boy with partner Sammy Kimmence and Jack became a dad in 2020.
Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea: SPLIT
Amber and Greg were together for less than two weeks but managed to win over the nation and Love Island 2019. But before they could even make things official they split, with Greg reportedly dumping Amber by text.
Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard: SPLIT
Probably one of the most shocking Love Island recouplings was definitely Maura and Curtis. Against all odds the pair made it to the final and weeks after leaving the villa they became an official couple. They lasted eight months before splitting, with Maura linked to her Dancing on Ice co star and reports they'd been keeping up a 'showmance' for months.Maura HAD been dating fellow islander Chris Taylor, but earlier this month, the pair announced they'd called their relationship quits.
India Reynolds and Ovie Soko: SPLIT
Ovie and India have definitely been the most successful bombshells of all time. The basketball player entered the villa during Casa Amor and India joined the show just weeks before the final. Needless to say, we were obsessed with them but they've since called it quits.
Belle Hassan and Anton Danyluk: SPLIT
Belle and Anton just missed out on the Love Island final and didn't seem to be spending a whole lot of time together back in the UK. Sure enough they split after five weeks, with Belle reportedly freaked out by his Craig David obsession. There's since been speculation that they'll reunite but nothing came of it.
Harley Brash and Chris Taylor: SPLIT
Despite being latecomers to the Love Island villa, Harley and Chris won the public over - even after their drama following the Sidebar of Shame challenge. Two weeks after leaving the villa they called it quits and Chris then started dating Maura (spoiler: they've now broken up, too)
Jourdan Riane and Danny Williams: SPLIT
Jourdan and Danny left the villa shortly after the Casa Amor stint and after confirming they were in a relationship they moved in together. However in October, Jourdan ended their relationship following reports Danny was partying with random women.
Joanna Chimonides and Michael Griffiths: SPLIT
Michael left us - and the villa - shook when he decided to recouple with Joanna, leaving Amber single. Despite the awkwardness, Michael and Joanna seemed to kind of be working - until she was dumped from the island and then he said he still has feelings for Amber. He was then dumped from the villa and Joanna was then spotted 'kissing' Michael at a festival. Michael has since sparked rumours that he's recoupled with another Casa Amor star.
Lucie Donlan and Joe Garratt: SPLIT
Lucie and Joe had a rough time in the Love Island villa, especially after thesandwich maker was accused of "gaslighting" his other half. Post villa they revisited their relationship back in the UK but split in late 2019.Lucie is now dating Love Island 2020's Luke Mabbott.
Demi Jones and Luke Mabbot: SPLIT
Luke and Demi were the shock last minute couple who made it to the final after their respective rollercoaster rides in the villa. They lasted a valiant four months but spending lockdown apart meant they were the first to split in June. Luke is now dating Love Island 2019 star Lucie.
Ched Uzor and Jess Gale: SPLIT
Jess was left heartbroken when her twin, Eve, was the first to be dumped from the villa and struggled to form a connection with any of the lads - until Ched showed up during Casa Amor. They made it to fourth place but split due to being separated during lockdown.
Connor Durman and Sophie Piper: SPLIT
Connor and Sophie were an original couple but when Connor was dumped from the villa and Sophie didn't follow, the future became uncertain. They did hook up again after arriving back in the UK but never went official and last featured on each others' social media back in February.
Mike Boteng and Priscilla Anyabu: SPLIT
Despite surviving a worldwide coronavirus pandemic together, the pair called it a day in June 2021, just over a year after they met.
Lucinda Strafford and Aaron Francis : SPLIT
Lucinda left viewers shook when she moved on from Brad McClelland just two days after he sacrificed his place in the villa for her. Aaron and Lucinda were together for a couple of weeks before they found themselves dumped from the island following a public vote. Plot twist though, just 72 hours after landing back in Blighty, Lucinda announced that she and Aaron were just friends. She was then pictured holding hands with BRAD on a night out in Brighton, declaring that it 'was early days'. BLIMEY
Why has Love Island summer 2020 been cancelled?
Confirming the news to The Sun, Kevin Lygo, Director of Television at ITV explained: "We have tried every which way to make Love Island this summer but logistically it's just not possible to produce it in a way that safeguards the wellbeing of everyone involved and that for us is the priority.
"In normal circumstances we would be preparing very soon to travel out to the location in Mallorca to get the villa ready but clearly that’s now out of the question."

Kevin continued: "We are very sorry for fans of the show but making it safely is our prime concern and Love Island will be back stronger than ever in 2021. In the meantime Love Island fans can still enjoy all six series of Love Island on BritBox."
This all comes after a TV-insider-type revealed that the work put into the summer series so far will now be transferred to a 'winter' 2021 series; set to air early next year.
They said: "A huge amount of work had already gone into this series in terms of laying out plans for the show.
"Casting had also started, with interviews on Zoom for new applicants planned to begin this week.
"Rising stars on social media had also been tapped up by producers, who were already picking out their favourites."
Give us a few hours to gather our thoughts, yeah?
