Love Island is up there with eating and breathing as one of the most important parts of our day. But, even we have to admit, this year’s series has felt a little too staged at some points along the way.
First, we had that whole debacle of the Georgia Steel/Jack Fowler ‘kiss’ – which was seemingly filmed more than once, then it transpired that most of Samira Mighty and Frankie Foster’s relationship had been cut from the show (they even had a night in the hideaway we knew absolutely nothing about).
Now, it appears the couples’ big romantic reunion at Gatwick airport was a farce.
ICYMI, footage was released (and then later aired on Love Island: Aftersun) showing Frankie’s rocking up to arrivals to meet Samira following her decision to leave the villa.
In the clip, Samira spots Frankie as she strolls through arrivals and then leaps into his loving arms.
However, while chatting to Caroline Flack about Frankie’s gesture, Samira admits she ‘almost walked straight passed him’.
“I literally died,” Samira explained, “I walked past him a little bit.
"I was like who's that fit guy who's holding up my name."

Speaking to The Sun, a source who was reportedly at the airport at the time also revealed: ”I was a bit disappointed because it seemed a bit fake and staged.
“You can tell they're into each other because they seemed really happy. But it's a shame they had to film it twice.”
Although the reunion may have been fake, it seems Frankie and Samira’s connection is 100% real. Frankie asked Samira to be his girlfriend while the couple spoke about their romance on Aftersun.
