Love Island's Sophie Gradon may have dumped extreme man-baby Tom Powell (for now) on the show, but she's not always been solely into dudes – and heat can exclusively reveal that her ex-girlfriend has also dated Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson!

As we report in this week's mag, Sophie was with fellow Geordie Natalie Phillips for eight months last year, and the two were pretty serious about each other.

A friend close to Sophie told heat: "It was an extremely intense relationship. They were obsessed with each other and Natalie was head over heels in love with Sophie.

"Sophie wasn't always as into it and kind of messed her around a bit."

Our source tells us that the couple only broke up around three months ago, so things were still fairly raw between them when Sophie jetted off to film the show.

It echoes what Sophie said about her ex when she first arrived in the Love Island villa, namely: "I was quite serious with the last girl I was with. We broke up and still saw each other on and off. It wasn't right, I love her to bits."

"In the end, it drove Natalie mad that Sophie wouldn't properly commit to her," our insider added. "After three months of being on and off practically every day, they put an end to things."

And that coincides with when Marnie Simpson was supposed to have hooked up with Natalie – in a video that did the rounds in April this year, Natalie can be seen getting close to the bisexual reality star, with Marnie pretending to lick her face.

Marnie, of course, famously came out as bi to heat earlier this year, telling us: "I've always kissed girls, but I don't think I took it seriously until I had an encounter with a girl a year ago.

"It was just after a night out – we got drunk and it just happened. That, to me, was different, because it was just me and her.

"It wasn't for any other reason than I wanted to, so it made us think differently. It was a friend – I've known her about two years."
