Love Island star Zara Holland has hit back at the Miss GB beauty pageant after being stripped of her title for having sex with Alex Bowen on the ITV2 show.
Speaking after she arrived back in the UK, having left the villa on Monday, Zara told The Sun that she's done nothing wrong and didn't deserve to have her crown taken off her.
"There is nothing wrong with having sex on TV," she said.
"I knew what I was signing up for – it is Love Island. I am a 20-year-old girl who was in the moment.
"There are lots of girls my age who go out every week and do that – mine was just on national TV."
Zara said she hadn't committed any crime, so cannot understand why Miss GB would react the way it did, adding that she "worked my ass off" and poured in her life savings to take part in the beauty competition.
The 20 year old went on to say she "had no regrets" about what she did, other than that it might have reflected badly on her family – and she said she's "mortified" that her mum had to see her sex scenes on TV.
But she added: "Everyone was having sex at night, having fun.
"I was in the villa for three weeks, I had the time of my life."
While Miss GB has made a statement about Zara's dethroning, saying the organisation couldn't condone their winner having sex on TV, ITV bosses have made it clear the door is open to Zara should she want to return to the Love Island villa.
Catch more drama on the show tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
