Zara Holland has been out of the Love Island villa for all of 24 hours now, but when we caught up with her mum, Cheryl Hakeney, she told us she had mixed feelings about her daughter's behaviour on the show.
Speaking to heat magazine before being taken ill (Cheryl's health was the reason Zara chose to leave the villa yesterday), the antiques expert said Zara having sex with Alex Bowen "wasn't her proudest moment".
"I'm really surprised by Zara's behaviour in the hideaway – it's definitely out of character. But although it's not her proudest moment, she hasn't committed any crime and I have to keep perspective," said Cheryl.
Of Miss GB's decision to de-crown Zara following her Love Island sexploits, Cheryl said: "I'm disappointed they took her title away – I hoped they would understand that all young women make mistakes."
She added that Zara isn't the luckiest in love, having found her beauty queen title actually "does put a lot of guys off when it comes to dating".
And 2016 hasn't been Zara's best year for love, either.
"[She spent time] with a guy that she really, really liked and he took her out on New Year’s Eve 2015, and then just before midnight told her that he had hooked back up with his ex-girlfriend," Cheryl said.
Yeouch. Poor Zara. Here's hoping her mum gets better real quick so she can head back to the Love Island villa ASAP.
