MAFS UK is in full swing, but viewers are still several weeks away from finding out whether the brides and grooms lasted the entirety of the experiment - and if they are still going strong in the outside world.
But for one of the couples in MAFS UK 2024, their fate has been prematurely revealed owing to an eagle-eyed holidaymaker, who spotted contestant Eve Reid with an apparent new girlfriend in Ibiza.
In pictures obtained by The Sun, Eve - who married Charlie Curtis at first sight on the E4 show - had her arm around a girl who was visibly not her TV bride.
An onlooker - who spotted Eve and the mystery woman at the check-in desk at Ibiza Airport - told the outlet, '[Eve] seemed really loved up with the girl at the airport. She had her arm around Eve’s waist as they were waiting to check in their bags. [Eve] seemed in a really bad mood. Then when we took the photo, she put up her hood as if she didn’t want to be seen.'
While Eve and Charlie immediately hit it off at the altar, cracks began to show on their honeymoon. A confused and heartbroken Charlie confronted Eve when she became distant following the consummation of their marriage, which led to a blazing row on their honeymoon.
Despite sleeping in separate rooms, Eve and Charlie appeared keen to give their marriage a go, but they've struggled with their communication and fans have criticised both brides.
During Experts Week, while Charlie opened up to Eve about her parents' split and being estranged from her father, Eve admitted she hadn't put pen to paper. Despite insisting she'd rather spend quality time with Charlie, her wife hit back with, 'But you don't, you haven't. Stop, because you're lying.'
At that point, Charlie asked Eve to leave, with the future of their relationship unclear.
One viewer tweeted, 'Eve: I don't trust you yet so won't invest in you but will let you pour your heart out to me and invest in me [red flag]. Eve takes no accountability, puts everything onto Charlie and plays the victim constantly.'
Someone said, 'I can’t believe I’m the only one who feels bad for Eve? I’m not even an avoidant person but Charlie would drive me away. She’s so selfish and unstable with her emotions.'
A third added, 'Eve and Charlie are as bad as each other, their communication styles are not compatible. Neither of them let the other express how they feel without getting their backs up.'
