Married At First Sight Australia has seriously been wild af this year but things have now gone to another level because a series 12 couple (aka two 2025 stars) are engaged.
Now the obvious couple to get engaged so soon after the experiment ended would of course be Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels, who not only dated before the show but were one of the only couples who voted to stay together at the final vows.
However it turns out that it's actually another couple who are engaged and not just any MAFS stars, it's the two contestants who recoupled outside the show - Jacqui Burfoot and Clint Rice.
Announcing the news on Instagram in a joint post alongside Australian publication So Dramatic, they wrote, 'OMG!!!! Clint just proposed to Jacqui at our MAFS Reunion Party in Sydney and she said YES!!! ❤️😱👏.
'Clint got down on one knee during our Q&A and popped the question with a stunning custom-made 5.08ct oval diamond solitaire ring set in platinum and 18ct yellow gold from @simoncurwoodjewellers 💍✨.'
They added, 'Looks like Jacqui found her stay-at-home dog dad and fairytale ending after all! 😭🙌 CONGRATULATIONS JACQUI & CLINT! We are so happy for you both! 🫶🥰.'
Lots of their fans rushed to comment on their engagement with one person writing, 'Getting engaged at an event where "fans" have paid to come. Top tier romance! 👏.'
Someone else said, 'How bizarre that he chose to pop the question at that moment. Makes me question if it's genuine.'
A third commented, 'I actually like them together. They both look really happy.'
One more added, 'We do realise the maker of the ring was a sponsor/host of the watch party yeah? Hahah total publicity stunt...'
The MAFS stars started dating shortly after filming for the show wrapped, with Jacqui explaining, 'I definitely thought that he was marriage material, but we didn’t know if we were going to click.
'We didn’t speak much in the experiment and we’ve got a 14-year age gap. It felt nerve-wracking to see whether or not we would actually work.
'But as soon as I got down there, sparks flew and we knew straightaway,' she told Woman's Day.
Jacqui and Clint recoupling comes after her marriage to Ryan Donnelly came to an end during the final vows where she told him, 'You're not a red flag, you're a red carpet.'
Meanwhile it was very clear that Lauren and Clint weren't going to work out after she branded all her co-stars 'boganic' and admitted she didn't see a future with Clint.
