Earlier this year, Boyzone announced they would be releasing their final album, before going on their last tour as a group. Now, the band has dropped the first single from their new album, and also revealed some further details about their album, 'Thank You & Goodnight', which will be released later this year.

The album will include a very touching tribute to their late band member Stephen Gately. Originally forming as a group of five, Stephen Gately very sadly passed away in 2009, leaving Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch, Keith Duffy and Mikey Graham to continue making music and touring.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Shane revealed that 'Thank You & Goodnight' would include some vocals from their late band mate saying, "Boyzone will always be five so it was important that as we said goodbye, we said it with him. ‘We have a piece of Stevo on the album. It’s amazing. A bittersweet blessing without a doubt. It was just lovely to have him around. We miss him."

The vocals come from a song Stephen recorded before he died, which have now been made into a song on the album called 'I Can Dream'.

As well as including Stephen's vocals, 'Thank You & Goodnight', includes songs co-written by a number of well-known pop stars including Sam Smith, Gary Barlow and Ed Sheeran. Boyzone dropped the music video for their single 'Because' earlier this week and the video features a cameo appearance from none other than Ed Sheeran!

The video starts with the band performing in striking white suits, before cutting to the group singing along to their own song karaoke-style. The video then shows 'members of the public' singing along, including Ed Sheeran!

Boyzone formed in 1993, and shot to fame with their single 'Love Me For A Reason' back in 1994. Keith Duffy, Stephen Gately, Mikey Graham, Ronan Keating, and Shane Lynch then went on to have a number of top 10 hits in the UK as well as several number 1 albums.

Along with 'Thank You & Goodnight', which will be released on Friday 16th November 2018, Boyzone will be going on tour. Tickets for their 'Thank You & Goodnight' Tour are available to buy now from Aloud.com
