We all know that Ed Sheeran is an incredibly talented pop star. He's written many songs for both himself, as well as writing songs for other artists, but it's now been revealed just how much money he paid himself per day last year. And it is A LOT of money!

According to the latest figures, Ed Sheeran earned a massive £17.1 million last year, which works out at a whopping £47,000 a day. Not bad for the music student who got straight 'F's at music college!

New documents filed for Ed Sheeran Limited have revealed that the pop star's company had an annual turnover of £32,645,445 in 2018, with pre-tax profits of £23,770,262, which was down on the previous year's profits. The pop star also made a huge tax payment of £4,506,139.

Although Ed Sheeran only released one song last year, 'Happier', he was on tour for much of the year with his '÷ Tour' travelling to Oceania, Asia, Europe, and the USA. Ed finally finished his epic tour a couple of month ago, with a number of homecoming shows in Leeds and Ipswich.

When Ed's tour finally came to an end he posted a photo thanking his crew, saying, '9 million people, 893 days, 46 countries, 175 cities, 260 shows, 268 touring crew, 193265 miles travelled, 2 broken arms, 3 marriages, 4 babies. What a wild ride this Divide tour has been.'

Now that Ed has finished his tour he's revealed he's going to take some time out, telling his fans on Instagram, 'I'm having 18 months off to make another album and hang out with my cats'.
