Hits Radio, a brand-new national digital radio station, launched this morning - and the Breakfast Team Gethin Jones, Gemma Atkinson and Dave Vitty were joined by Jess Glynne.

Jess opened up about being recently appointed the title of most number ones from any British female artist, saying: “I am so overwhelmed by that title. It is insane, but yeah, it’s not sunk in.”

She also spoke about her fame, adding: “I haven’t got my own private jet, I've been on one. I went on one the other day and I took my friend.”

And on how music helps she said, “Music… it’s like my self-therapy. I'm quite good at holding in emotions and then it all comes out at one point. When I write and I get in the studio and I make music I feel like I let loose of all that tension.

The first song played on Hits Radio, as voted by the public, was 'Greatest Day' by Take That. Speaking after the song finished, Gethin said: “That was Greatest Day by Take That, the song you chose as the first ever song to be played on Hits Radio, Good Morning - if you’re listening to this it means I’ve pressed the right button.”

Gemma Atkinson then exclaimed: “You did! We all made it.”
