The Jonas Brothers are three of the best things to EVER come out of The Disney Channel - and yes, we're including Britney Spears and High School Musical in that. Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas have been performing together as the Jonas Brothers since way back in 2005, meaning that their time as a musical trio nearly amounts to a whopping 15 years!

Of course, whilst the brothers are literally brothers, they did split up as a band for a wee while, taking time off from the band between 2013 and 2019, returning with a bang this year along with brand new single 'Sucker', an album on the way AND a tour.

Obviously, there's so much more to the bros than just being brothers and being in a band together - here's everything you need to know about the Jonas Brothers.

How did the Jonas Brothers get famous?

In 2005, the brothers - then 18, 16 and 13 - recorded their first ever song, 'Please Be Mine'. The track was heard by Columbia Records president Steve Greenberg, who signed them as a group - almost calling them Sons of Jonas. Thank goodness that didn't pan out.

During 2005, they worked on their debut album and toured with the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Jesse McCartney and the Backstreet Boys, releasing their debut album 'It's About Time' in 2006.

That year, the brothers wrote and performed the theme tune to Disney Channel TV show Jake Long: American Dragon, thus beginning a fruitful career with Disney. In 2007, the brothers appeared in an episode of Hannah Montana, and in 2008 co-produced fellow Disney star Demi Lovato's debut album, 'Don't Forget', later starring alongside her in 2008 film Camp Rock.

How many albums have the Jonas Brothers made?

The band's first album 'It's About Time' was released on 8th August 2006, spawning singles 'Mandy' and two covers of songs by Busted - 'What I Go to School For' and 'Year 3000', as well as 'Time for Me to Fly' which appeared on the soundtrack of 2006 film Aquamarine.

Second album 'Jonas Brothers' was released in 2007 with singles 'Hold On', 'S.O.S' and 'When You Look Me in the Eyes'. The album peaked at Number 5 in the US and Number 9 in the UK, also being certified Gold in the UK.

The brothers released third album 'A Little Bit Longer' just one year later in 2008, containing singles 'Burnin' Up', 'Lovebug' and 'Tonight'. It peaked at Number 1 in the US, but only reached Number 19 in the UK - although it was also certified Gold.

The Jonas Brothers' fourth album 'Lines, Vines and Trying Times' was released another year later in 2009, spawning singles 'Paranoid' and 'Fly With Me'. It also peaked at Number 1 in the US and reached Number 9 in the UK. This was their last album before the hiatus.

The brothers returned in 2019 after their hiatus with 'Happiness Begins', which was released on 7th June 2019. Singles included 'Sucker' and 'Cool', both co-written with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic. Nick has apparently described album track 'Hesitate' as a "love letter" to his now-wife Sophie Turner, and added that 'I Believe' was written about his own relationship with now-wife Priyanka Chopra.

What are the lyrics to Jonas Brothers' 'Cool' about?

'Cool' was a song released by the Jonas Brothers in April 2019. The band wrote the song along with Casey Smith, Ryan Tedder and Zach Skelton. The song was the band's follow-up to their comeback single, 'Sucker' and has references to Sophie Turner and Priyanka Chopra.

The song starts,

'Woke up feelin' like a new James Dean

I comb my hair like an old school sheen

I'm feelin' high like a late night summer in last year, yeah

Standin' there with the red dress on ya

A Killer Queen like a young Jane Fonda

Is it me or am I just havin' a good year'

Why did the Jonas Brothers break up?

Although for many years it hadn't officially been addressed, Nick admitted in March 2019 during a Carpool Karaoke with his brothers and James Corden that it was his doing - before immediately confirming that he'd also reunited the band too.

"I broke the band up, but I got them back together," he admitted, as Kevin added, "It's true, it was a full redemptive story."

Nick explained further about the reunion, "Basically, about a year ago we started talking about making a documentary together. That was the start of it - just to tell our story, our childhood and into our career together.

"In that process we did some necessary healing, because you know when things ended it wasn't the best. There was a magic when we were together that we would all like to feel again."

In a joint interview on CBS This Morning in May 2019, Nick admitted he was scared his brothers would "never speak" to him ever again. Confessing that there was not a "simple" explanation, Nick said, "To call it creative differences is almost too simple and I think a lot of people lost the appetite for what we were putting into the world.

"So, you know, we were putting up shows that weren’t selling. We were making music that I don’t think we were all super proud of, and it wasn’t connected. So I had a very tough conversation with them where I laid it out for them.

"I said, ‘You know, I feel like the Jonas Brothers should be no more, and we should go on individual journeys.’ And it didn’t go so well."

Joe then jumped in to say that it had all been worth it, "We definitely were supposed to go through all of what we went through to get to this point. I think it was, it was kind of, I guess you could say destiny, whatever it may be, but yeah, we got a do-over, and I think this time around we’re going to do it right."

But he also revealed that it was the way Nick had gone about telling his brothers that he wanted it to be over. He explained, "It was not, ‘My heart’s not in it, and I want to be real with you as band members and brothers.’ It was, ‘The band is over. I want to go do stuff without you guys and I’ve made up my mind.'

"I felt betrayed, I felt lied to, I felt angry, numb. What hurt the most was that it came from Nick because he is my best friend. I thought that me, Kevin and Nick were going to do this forever, and that it was us against the world," with Kevin adding that was the moment he knew it was over as "Joe and Nick were thick as thieves."

Speaking to Wonderland magazine that same month, the brothers noted that being in the band was beginning to impact their relationship as family members. Nick said, "There was definitely a strain emotionally that was being put on all of us," adding, "I think it was always a priority for us to protect the family first and make sure that nothing ever complicated that relationship too much."

Kevin also said, "We didn’t have a relationship as brothers. There was so much more riding on us because we were working together and making music as this band."

It's also reported that Nick suffered a panic attack about the direction the band was taking, and that was what caused him to start the difficult conversation with his brothers.

Who are the Jonas Brothers' wives?

Eldest JoBro Kevin has been married to Danielle Deleasa for almost 10 years, as they tied the knot in December 2009 at Oheka Castle in New York. After their wedding, they starred in their own E! reality show, Married To Jonas. They have two daughters together; Alena Rose, five and two-year-old Valentina Angelina.

Nick married his girlfriend, actress Priyanka Chopra, in December 2018. Rumours that they were dating first started circulating in May 2017 at the Met Gala, and he then proposed to her on her birthday the next year - 18th July 2018.

Joe started dating Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner in 2016, and the pair got engaged in October 2017. They got married in Las Vegas on 1st May 2019 after the Billboard Awards, and had a second wedding with guests in Paris, France on 29th June 2019.

All three JoBro wives starred in the music video for the band's comeback single, 'Sucker', which was released in March 2019.

Which Jonas Brothers song is about Taylor Swift?

For context, Joe Jonas and Taylor Swift dated for about three months in 2008, and things did NOT end very well. Taylor appeared on The Ellen Show shortly after the breakup, talking about her song 'Forever and Always'.

When Ellen asked her if it was a "sarcastic" song, Taylor affirmed, "Definitely. When I find that person that is right for me, he’ll be wonderful. When I look at that person, I’m not even gonna be able to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds when I was 18." Ouch!

Many fans were convinced that fourth album 'Lines, Vines and Trying Times' single 'Paranoid' was about Taylor, as there's one section where Joe sings, 'That’s why my ex is still my ex/I never trust a word she says/I’m running all the background checks/And she’s freaking out.' However, that has never been confirmed.

But another track on that album, 'Much Better', is all but guaranteed to be about Taylor, as the lyrics actually reference her song 'Teardrops On My Guitar'. The lyrics are, 'I get a rep for breakin' hearts/Now I'm done with superstars/And all the tears on her guitar/I'm not bitter/But now I see/Everything I'd ever need/Is the girl in front of me/She's much better.' Crikey.

However, the pair have now put the past behind them, as Taylor appeared on Ellen's show once again in May 2019. When asked about the most rebellious thing she's ever done, Taylor said, "Probably when I put Joe Jonas on blast on your show! That was too much. I was 18. We laugh about it now, but that was mouthy. Just some teenage stuff there."

Joe responded to her comments on Lorraine in June 2019, saying that it was "nice" for her to say sorry. "It’s something that I probably was feeling pretty bad about when I was younger, but at the end of the day, I’ve moved on. I’m sure Taylor’s moved on, and it feels nice, and we’re all friends - it’s all good. We were so young."
