Kimberly Walsh took to her Instagram during last night’s BRIT Awards to share a throwback from her Girls Aloud heyday, when the band picked up the gong for Best British Single in 2009.

Posting a snap from their triumphant acceptance speech, Kimberly wrote, “Watching the #brits and feeling a little nostalgic so here’s a little throw back for ya 💞”, and fans were loving the trip down memory lane.

“Can’t believe how long it’s been! Still remember it so well and how excited I was for you all,” wrote one commenter, while another said, “Never forget racking up my mum and dad's phone bill voting for this very moment... WORTH IT.”

And as ever, everyone was hopeful for a reunion.

“We're two years away from an anniversary in 2022, I would love to get back with the girls and put on a big show, put it on for the fans really,” she told hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, who are filling in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield during half term.

“That was our favourite thing to do, to do a show. I think we have to cross that bridge when the anniversary comes to see where we're all at.”
