It was a day One Direction fans remember all too well: December 13th 2015 was the last time Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson took to the stage together. They performed "History" on the X Factor finale, returning home to where it all began for them to say goodbye to an era. Let's relive it, shall we?

It's been nearly two years and since then, each guy has been doing his own things from making solo music, filming a movie to having babies. It's been a TIME. Naturally, whenever any of the guys have done any sort of interview since they've temporarily gone their separate ways, everyone wants to know if a reunion is going to happen. Liam just appeared on TRL and it came up yet again and he enthusiastically spoke about how it's a real possibility that can happen sooner rather than later.

"I feel like it's going to happen soon, I've got a feeling. I'm excited for it. I want it to happen. There was a whole album that we didn't tour, I know we need to go and write some more music. It was so much fun and everyone loves it so much so we have to go again, for sure," Liam said.

Precious. Can always count on Liam to give us glimmers of hope. All four remaining members have said YES, over and over again that the band is going to get back together one day. Niall said that there's no rush since the guys are still so young and shave plenty of time left in their careers to properly get back together.

"It’s only been two years, or less than two years [since we took a break]. It’s like two years in my life. I’m hoping to live a long life, so two years out of it is not a very long time neither is three or neither is four. We have to just wait until everyone’s ready to go again, we’ll go again. It’d be nice to think that we stopped at a high point, it’d be nice to pick up from there," Niall said.

Harry agreed, in another interview revealing he hopes it will all just happen organically.

"Maybe at some point everyone will want to do something again but it's better if it happens naturally like, 'Hey we all really want to do this again. If that were to happen it would be amazing. I would never rule that out," Harry said. "It's the most important, greatest thing that ever happened to me, being in that band. It completely changed my life." BRB, crying. Still so adorable he shared that. And as Louis reminded us all, this reunion WILL happen. In good time.

"There is no question of if – it's a must. And I think we're all on the same page with that one. It would be too difficult for any of us to say no. It's one of those ones," Louis said.

So there we have it. One Direction will for sure reunite. Perhaps maybe we should all stop asking the guys since you know, they've made it crystal clear it's going to be a reality eventually and there isn't any sort of new update. If they want to divulge some details about the exact time and place though, then spill away boys. But as to when this magical day will come, that remains to be seen. We just know it's happening. We promise. Or Harry, Niall, Liam and Louis promise. And when have they ever lied to us before?
