Niall Horan has been updating fans on the progress of his upcoming album, which has been nicknamed 'NH2'. The currently untitled album, which will be the follow-up to his debut solo album 'Flicker', has been a long time coming. And fans are super excited to hear more about it.

Sharing a photo of a recording studio to his fans on Instagram, the pop star told them he had recorded some 'beautiful strings, saying, 'Spent the morning back in the studio I recorded the whole of ‘Flicker’. We recorded some beautiful strings for a special song and I look forward to sharing it with you.'

It's been just a day since he shared the news and fans from around the world have left excited comments. Australian singer Taylor Henderson commented, 'To say I’m excited is an absolute understatement', with another saying, 'so excited niall 🖤🖤🖤'. [sic]

Although the former One Direction singer has yet to confirm a release date for his new music, he followed his Instagram post with a tweet saying, 'Are you ready?'. Keeping his loyal fans guessing what he could be on about.

One fan replied, 'are u just going to leave us like that' [sic], with another saying, 'Niall your face of happiness tells us that you are ready then we too. Here we go again 😎'.

Of course, if his new album is ready to drop, it would be ahead of the timescale he originally revealed last year. In October 2018, Niall told fans that he expected the new album to around a year to complete saying, 'ALBUM OUT BY THE END OF 2019 !'
