Little Mix had a fantastic 2017, and just when we thought they might be having a bit of downtime before their next tour, it turns out they are secretly working on their next album!

Singer Raye, who has recently had her single 'You Don't Know Me' with Jax Jones nominated for a BRIT Award, is also a songwriter. And revealed to the **Daily Star **that she has been writing for Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson.

When asked what she has been working on Raye said, "The Little Mix album, I've been writing for that. For every 10 guys there's one girl, everywhere you go." She went on to explain that it's important for girls to support each other in the music industry.

"It's very overwhelming and I think it's really important that girls have started to support each other more, all becoming friends, and it's like a community. It's so important," she said.

"I think we need more female collaborations because it isn't enough."

Over the weekend the BRIT nominations were announced, but Little Mix failed to be nominated in the British Group category, much to their fans' surprise. Taking to social media to vent their frustration one fan account said, 'Not only should Little Mix be nominated for ‘Best British Group’ they should actually win it, considering they dominated both 2016 & 2017 with multiple platinum hits and albums.'

Continuing, 'Never mind three singles crossing the 1M sold mark. Maybe think about that☺️☺️'.

Another said, 'You mean to tell me Little Mix have the top highest grossing girl group tour of 2017 and biggest selling female/group album in the uk in 2017 and were still not nominated for best British group at the Brits?' [sic].

In response to the girls not receiving a British Group nomination Jade pointed out that if “it was based on sales and stuff” the girls would smash every category.

Despite not receiving a British Group nomination the girls did get a nomination for British Single ('Touch'). 'Touch' is also shortlisted for the British Video Artist of the Year category. This time around 10 songs have been chosen by YouTube/Vevo, and a final five nominations will be chosen by a public vote which is taking place at the moment.

In other Little Mix news the girls have recently passed a mega milestone with their videos receiving over three billion views on YouTube! Their 2015 single 'Black Magic' is currently their biggest music video on YouTube, racking up over 361 million views globally. 'Hair' has over 283 million views, and 'Shout Out To My Ex' has over 279 million views.

At the beginning of this month the girls teased their fans with the possibility of some new music, however nothing has been confirmed until now.

Taking to the band's official Instagram page, Little Mix wrote, '2018! We’re sooooo ready for you, 2017 was absolutely amazing and this year is about to be EVEN better! We’ve got so much coming your way... Wait on it 👀😉 xx the girls xx' [sic]

Little Mix rose to fame after they won **The X Factor **in 2011. Since winning the show they have enjoyed amazing success worldwide, with four top 5 studio albums and 18 singles including top 10 singles, 'Power', 'Reggaetón Lento (Remix)' and 'Shout Out To My Ex'.
