Zayn Malik might have broken the hearts of millions of One Direction fans, but there's one man who can truly relate. That's right Robbie Williams. It seems the former Take That star has offered a helping hand to Zayn, who became overwhelmed by life in 1D.

Robbie is thought to have taken some time out from his current tour, and said that he's happy for Zayn to stay at either of his swanky pads in LA and London if he wants to escape the madness.

A source told The Sun: “Robbie feels a connection with the lads as he’s walked in their shoes and feels Zayn’s departure mirrors his own from Take That.

“Zayn was only a year older than Robbie was when they joined their bands. They both did five years then felt they just had to leave.

“He sees himself as one of the few people who can truly understand what Zayn’s going through.

“He cares enough to offer advice, just like ELTON JOHN did with him.”

Since leaving the band Zayn told The Sun: "You know, I did try to do something that I wasn't happy doing for a while, for the sake of maybe other people's happiness...And that was mainly the fans. And I only ever tried to do it for the fans, and it was only ever for them.

"I'm only upset (because) I feel like I may have let them down in some sort of way. It's not that I've turned my back on them or anything, it's just that I just can't do that anymore because it's not real to me."
