Spice Girls have announced a NEW tour date and venue

After the phenomenal demand for tickets over the weekend, the Spice Girls have just announced another tour date in a new venue, not previously listed in their 'Spice World - 2019 UK Tour'. Geri Horner (née Halliwell), Mel B, Emma Bunton and Melanie C - the girls who gave us ‘Wannabe’, ‘Say You’ll Be There’ and many more hits - will now be performing in Cardiff as well as many other venues across the country including Manchester, Coventry, Sunderland, Edinburgh, Bristol and London.

The group announced the exciting news on Twitter saying, 'CARDIFF! We’re very excited to bring Spice World to you on 27th May. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9.30am'.

As with the previously announced dates, Jess Glynne will also be supporting the girls at their Cardiff date. Jess' hits include ‘Hold My Hand’, ‘I’ll Be There’ and her current song ‘Thursday’.

Due business commitments, Victoria won’t be joining the girls on tour, however after their initial tour announcement, she released a statement to her Instagram profile. Victoria shared the official tour photo of her fellow bandmates, and wrote, 'Today marks a special day for the girls as they announce the first tour dates since we performed together in 2012!

'I won't be joining my girls on stage again but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish them so much love and fun as they go back on tour next year. I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time! X vb #spicegirls #friendshipneverends.' [sic

Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Geri Horner, (Ginger Spice), and Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), might have only released 11 singles (including two double A-sides), but they had HUGE success around the world, with nine of the Spice Girls' songs and two of their albums going to Number 1 in the UK.

Some of their best-selling hits include their very memorable debut hit 'Wannabe' in 1996 and their penultimate release in 2000, 'Holler'/'Let Love Lead The Way'.

12 - The amount of children that the Spice Girls have between them

Victoria has four with her husband David Beckham - sons Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and daughter Harper. Emma has two sons with her partner Jade Jones - Tate and Beau and Geri has daughter Bluebell with ex-partner Sacha Gervasi and son Montague with husband Christian Horner.Mel C has a daughter Scarlett with her ex, Thomas Starr, whilst Mel B has three daughters - Phoenix, with ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar, Angel with US actor Eddie Murphy and Madison with her estranged husband Stephen Belafonte.

5 - The number of BRIT Awards the Spice Girls won

During the six years before their hiatus in 2000, the Spice Girls were nominated for a whopping nine BRIT Awards - and won five of them.In 1997, they were nominated for Best British Group, Best British Breakthrough Act, Best British Video for both 'Wannabe' and 'Say You'll Be There', and Best British Single for 'Wannabe'. They won Best British Single for 'Wannabe' and Video for 'Say You'll Be There'.In 1998, they were up for Best British Video for 'Spice Up Your Life', and won the Best Selling British Album Act. In 2000, the group won the Outstanding Contribution To Music and gave their final performance before they chose to split, and in 2010 won Brits Performance of the Last 30 Years.

The Spice Girls had three Christmas Number 1 singles - and they were all consecutive, too. They wont the top spot for '2 Become 1' in 1996, 'Too Much' in 1997 and 'Goodbye' in 1998.

The Spice Girls' follow-up album 'Spiceworld' was, of course, HUGELY popular around the world - so much so that it sold a whopping 13 million copies worldwide, becoming one of the world's bestselling albums by a girl group.

Featuring hits like 'Wannabe', '2 Become 1' and 'Who Do You Think You Are', it's no surprise that the Spice Girls' debut album 'Spice' reached the top spot in 17 countries.

2 - How many Number 1 album the Spice Girls have had

Of their three albums released, the Spice Girls won the top spot for their debut, 'Spice', in 1996 and for their second album 'Spiceworld' in 1997. Their third album 'Forever' was released in 2000 and peaked at Number 2, as did their Greatest Hits in 2007.

The Spice Girls formed in 1994 as a group of five and had numerous Number 1 singles and albums, including three Christmas Number 1 singles, a film and many world tours. Despite their dubious hairstyles, they won multiple BRIT Awards and they definitely made a mark in the 90s.
