Taylor Swift’s new song, Look What You Made Me Do, has caused a BIG stir. Fans are loving trying to figure what all the signs and references are about, who she’s throwing shade at, and what her message is.
But there’s an overriding mystery: what does the song title actually mean? What DID we make Taylor do?
Well fear not, Taylor’s friend Todrick Hall (who actually appears as one of the dancers in the vid), has given us some hints.
He told Instant: "I'm assuming what she means by [the title] is, 'You made me break every record, you made me out-sell everyone, you made me hire the best backup dancers in the world, you made me come out of a grave, you made me tilt a bunch of tombstones at one time.'"
And she did just that: Look What You Made Me Do broke three records in its first week of release. It received 19m views in its first day, beating the record previously held by the Chainsmokers and Coldplay – and the next day racked up 8m streams on Spotify.
Then, after the video was released, it was viewed almost 30m times in 24 hours, beating Adele’s Hello.
Woaaaah.
Todrick didn’t go into much detail about what it was like to work with Taylor, but he did say: “I think it speaks volumes of what type of a person Taylor is as a human being, as an artist, that she was able to get all these people on a set, shoot an epic [video]… and get them to not say anything.”
He also described how hard it was to keep the secret – he didn’t even tell his own family!
Keep the inside info coming, please…
