But we’re still confused, tbh.

In case you missed it (you definitely didn’t miss it), Taylor Swift is BACK ON THE SCENE, and just a couple of weeks ago she dropped her first single since 2014, ‘Look What You Made Me Do’.

The single was pretty much one massive indirect to all her haters, with references a plenty to Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Katy Perry and Tom Hiddleston…

(And that’s just a few of the names she metaphorically dropped.)

But the thing is, LWYMMD was so full of hidden messages that we couldn’t actually work out what she was on about. Who IS ‘the old Taylor’? And why is she dead?!

Well have no fear guys, because her video director, Joseph Khan, has got all the answers.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, he said: "Taylor is Taylor. She’s so consistent in who she is.

“Her imaging may be changing depending on what the thematics of the art is that she's producing, [but] the person remains the same. There's a core person there that's really a fantastic human being."

Anyone else confused… or is that just us?

We think he's basically saying that Taylor adopts a character depending on the song she's singing. Like method acting, only with singing.

Or maybe he's just taking things really literally and telling us that there isn't actually a dead 'old Taylor' somewhere. Yup, we got that hun.
