Ryan Lawrie is rumoured to be on the cusp of signing a brand new song-writing deal this year, with several “future hits” having already been penned by the X Factor star.
The 20-year-old Scottish lad came sixth in the ITV talent show back in 2016, and despite not landing a deal with Simon Cowell’s music label Syco (which he’s apparently not too bothered about because he’s not looking for a recording contract), he’s barely stepped out of the studio since leaving the show.
A source told the Daily Star: "he's putting his own music career on hold to write other songs for others.
"He's working with some pretty decent people in the industry and has had interest from major publishing companies."
Ryan is said to have a number of meetings in April to discuss his future career with top publishers.
He’s stayed quiet about the whole thing but has been sharing snaps on Instagram of him working hard in the studio writing tracks for other artists.
Who knows, maybe Ryan will be the next Sia and will end up writing songs for some of the biggest stars in the industry.
Given The X Factor’s track record of runners-up having bigger careers than the winners, we're gonna be watching this space.
