Earlier this month a Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik collaboration was rumoured for the single, “A Whole New World” originally sung by Lea Salonga and Brad Kane in the original 1992 Aladdin film.

Fans naturally went crazy but Zayn has shut it down. In a video posted online, Zayn responds to a fan’s question about whether the Selena collab is true or not, and the singer replies: “No it’s not man, sorry.”

The movie isn’t set to come out until May 2019, so there is still time. If this ever happens, they will follow in the footsteps of Ariana Grande and John Legend, who released a rendition of “Beauty and the Beast” last year with the live-action adaptation.

It’s been 25 years since Disney made the animated classic film. The film has a superstar cast.

Aladdin will be played by Mena Massoud, Jasmine will be played by Naomi Scott and Genie will be played by Will Smith.

Nonetheless, we're still hoping for 'Zaylena' to happen.
