We can all probably agree that late 90s/early 00s EastEnders was PEAK SOAP TELEVISION.

From Jamie Mitchell's death (we're still not over it tbh), to Robbie Jackson prowling the streets of Walford with Wellard by his side. It was great.

And despite Danny Dyer's arrival a couple of years ago, EastEnders will probably never ever be that good again. Boooooo.

However, EastEnders big bosses have a habit of bringing back elements of nostalgia by re-introducing old characters. Martin Fowler, Michelle Fowler and Grant Mitchell have all made MASSIVE comebacks in recent years.

So, you'll be pleased to know that Sonia and Robbie Jackson's family will be reunited once more as Dean Gaffney is set to reprise his role as Robbie in coming weeks.

Robbie is living in India with his partner Nita and has returned to Walford a few times for family weddings and funerals. But could he be back for good this time?

Waaahoooooo.

Speaking about his comeback, Dean said: "I’m really happy to be back.

"I’m so lucky to be given the chance to work again with such a talented group of people.

"A big thank you to Sean and the team. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun."

Executive producer Sean O’Connor added last night: "I’m thrilled to welcome back Dean as Robbie Jackson, one of EastEnders’ most loved and most popular characters.

"Bridge Street Market has never quite been the same without Robbie policing it in his hi-viz jacket.

"Dean brings a wonderful warmth and fun to his portrayal of Robbie and I’m sure that audiences will take him to their hearts again, just as they have always done."
