They claim that actress Noomi Rapace will play the late star, who passed away at the age of 27 in 2011.

It is also alleged that movie producers are in talks with Amy’s dad Mitch Winehouse to obtain rights to her music for the film.

Amy’s biopic will be written and directed by Irish film maker Kristen Sheridan.

The interest in making the biopic comes months after a documentary about Amy’s life was released to critical acclaim.

It caused controversy amongst Amy’s family, particularly in the representation of Amy’s father and his relationship with his late daughter.

Prior to her death, Amy was reportedly on track in beating her drug and alcohol demons.

Her life was documented by the press as she was pictured on nights out during her tumultuous relationship with ex husband Blake Fielder Civil.

Her album Back to Black sold over 20 million copies and won 5 Grammy Awards.
