One of the finalists of this year’s Apprentice has revealed the horrific event that caused her to quit her job and change her life.
Charleine Wain, 31, has opened up about losing one of her twin boys in 2007, when the child was just a few months old.
The former Royal Navy worker, who lives in Plymouth, lost her son Caylan to cot death just three months after he was born, prompting her to quit her career and take up hairdressing to be close to her family.
'I knew I needed to focus on a new career path,’ said Wain, who is now vying to be Alan Sugar’s right hand woman.
She described how she would work 9-5 in her normal job, before sneaking off to work in a salon.
And the mum, who continued to work in the Navy as she set up her new business, explained that hairdressing is very close to her heart because it came at a time when her life was spiralling.
'I see my hairdressing and hair salon as a representation of something so good coming of something so tragic and so bad. I just want to make it as successful as I can.'
Charleine now owns a successful hair and beauty salon in Plymouth, that frequently wins Best Salon awards.
Now in the final stages of this year’s show, Charleine has been popular with the public for her hardworking yet friendly attitude, and is tipped to be this season’s winner.
