People’s Park Tavern in Hackney is a certified gem. Both a cutesy village pub and brewery, the huge beer garden is what dreams are made of. You’ll find plenty of benches to sit on, tonnes of bunting and a scattering festoon lights for when night falls. Also coming up trumps when it comes to entertainment, have a go at Plonk’s Crazy Golf course, a 9 hole plot with water hazards and loops for you to enjoy in between drinks.
No list of beer gardens is complete without mentioning East London favorite: Rolling Stock. Situated on Kingsland Road, this spot not only boasts a bar, gallery and underground club, its beer garden is something special. Packed with benches and orange umbrellas, it’s the huge mural on the bare brick wall that your eyes will be glued to. Also boasting cocktails such as the Jack The Stripper and a Strawberry Tart, you’ll know where to find us this summer.
If you're looking for a brilliant beer garden in London, look no further than The Jam Tree in Chelsea. Seemingly made for boozy days in the sun, the garden is full of charmed seating areas; think long benches and undercover spots in case the weather isn’t playing ball. The Jam Tree also boasts a BBQ area, and if you head down on every other Thursday this month, you'll be able to feast on a free Hog Roast.
Pop Brixton is no ordinary beer garden, it’s got street food vendors in shipping containers, pop-up bars, a functioning greenhouse and plays host to plenty of fun events all year round. All contained in a mini village-like layout, weave your way through colourful spaces of food and drink. All covered with festoon lights and multicoloured lanterns, this is the perfect place to have a beer and chill, or simply dance the night away.
Proud East might be more of an outdoor terrace than beer garden, but that’s not to say it wasn’t made for this list. Sitting pretty on the banks of Regent’s Canal, this waterside hotspot has a wooden seating area with different levels to chill on, all covered in pockets of colourful flowers. With DJ’s and pop-ups also making a regular appearance at this hotspot, it's the only place to spend the rest of summer.
The Four Thieves’ beer garden is as unique as they come, proving that great things come in small packages. Called the Gin Yard, it’s where they grow the lavender for their gin (stocking over 70 types) and it’s got a love-at-first-sight effect. Its quirky decoration involves green and red festoon lighting, comfy vintage seats and artwork adorning the walls.
