We’re officially into the fourth month of 2018, folks. And, if you’re left in a cold sweat over what good you’ve done (apart from eat an obscene amount of Easter eggs), we’ve got some news for you. We’ve been on the look-out for some of the best things to do across the UK this April and picked out a few that’ll leave you feeling like you’ve done something productive with your year.
From a healthy(ish) pizza run in Cardiff to a bottomless margarita festival, it’s time to start packing out that empty-looking diary.
Things to do in April 2018
An Evening of Meat - London
Sydney, New York and Berlin? These are all the places that An Evening of Meat has reached critical acclaim, and it's finally set its sights on London. Taking place at The Vaults, this six-course fine dining feast will take you on an immersive journey, proving that nobody is just a piece of meat. Jaw-dropping performances coupled with excellent dishes will have you impressed from the minute you take your seat.
Digital Forest Cocktail Masterclass - Brighton
If you're after something truly unique to do this April, look no further than the Digital Forest Cocktail Masterclass. Whisking you away to a woodland through an immersive installation, complete with scents and sounds (and some real live butterflies), you'll learn how to make three avant-garde cocktails using a variety of foraged ingredients.
Dough It Yourself Pizza Party - London
Ever wondered what the secret is to making the perfect pizza? Well, now you can find out because Pizza Pilgrims are hosting masterclasses where they'll reveal all their secrets and techniques. Promising Italian street food and prosecco throughout your experience, your evening will end with a homemade shot of limoncello, a Nutella pizza ring and scoffing slices of your very own creation.
Margarita Rumble - London
Margaritas; they mightn't have solved Ross' troubles over Rachel and Joey in Season 10 of Friends, but there's no denying that this salt-rimmed tipple is one of the best there is. If you happen to agree, you might want to bag yourself a ticket to Margarita Rumble. This boozy festival will see you testing bottomless margaritas and voting for your favourite one to see London's best, crowned.
Musical Bingo Launch - Liverpool
After 10 years of sold out shows in the capital, Musical Bingo are hitting Liverpool for their first ever show this April. Similar (but so much more fun) than normal bingo, you'll have to get one, two and three lines for Full House by stamping different songs on your bingo cards. With 'killer question' rounds and 'multi choice mystery boxes', get ready for a bingo session like never before.
NTV Spring Break - London
MTV's Spring Break meets Neverland? London's getting a new pop-up with 'original' written all over it this month, and it's in your best interests to get a ticket. Branded as a 'bastardised, immersive adult playground', you'll be eating tacos with Hipster Lost Boys, ordering booze from a Tattooed Tinkerbell and getting creative with the Indian Rah-vers with arts and crafts. That's not all though: the night will finish in true Spring Break fashion with a dance-off in the NTV boxing ring.
Pizza Run - Cardiff
You might think eating pizza after a run defeats the purpose of all that sweat, but Pizza Run couldn't disagree more. Hitting Cardiff this month, they're challenging you to a 5K race where you'll be rewarded with cheesy slices along the way. With a pizza-themed medal for all participants, prizes for top finishers, DJ sets to dance to afterwards and plenty of picture opportunities, it's one of the funnest ways to (kind of) keep fit and challenge yourself this April.
Secret Supper - Manchester
Cottonopolis Food & Liquor in Manchester have been hosting a series of secret supper clubs for the past few months, but their April event might be the best one yet. Themed around cyberpunk, you'll be treated to an eight-course futuristic menu, including drinks, in a dystopian future created by visual architects. It might set you back £75, but it's more than worth the dent in your bank balance.
Espresso Martini Society - London
Fancy taking your love of coffee to the next level? The world's largest espresso martini menu is coming to London this month, and your £10 ticket includes a free cocktail on arrival. Boasting no less than 20 different options that come served in special glassware to ensure optimum drinking pleasure, you're guaranteed to leave this place on a (caffeine) high.
