We’ve been counting down the days (read: hours, minutes, seconds) to the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend since the stroke of midnight on 1st January and FINALLY the four-day weekend is upon us.
As well as a lovely long-weekend and a break from the daily grind, Easter’s also all about guilt-free over-indulgence. And what better way to celebrate the end of a long and painful Lent (if your attempt at giving up chocolate lasted longer than our 27 minutes) than testing out all the fancy shmancy Easter cocktails and EGG-stravagent Easter events across the UK.
Here’s our pick of some of the best on offer this weekend:
Things to do over Easter Bank Holiday Weekend
Quaglino’s Easter Extravaganza - London
This Easter Quaglino's are serving up a outrageously indulgent. Easter cocktail, aptly named 'Eggcellent'. The recipe is Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, Mozart Dark Chocolate Liqueur, gingerbread syrup and orange bitters, served with an edible chocolate sphere, mascarpone cream and gold glitter.Over the Bank Holiday Weekend, Quags are also offering up a Good Friday bottomless brunch with live music from DJ, saxophone and percussion trio New City Lights. On Sunday, there will also be an Easter Sunday Gospel Lunch, with a special performance from the Unite Gospel Choir. The lunch menu comes with your choice of bottomless bubbles OR bottomless Bordeaux.
Madison Club Brunch - London
Start your Easter weekend in style with the return of Club Brunch on the iconic Madison roof terrace on 30th March. The party kicks off from midday with a welcome glass of Moët Rose enjoying panoramic views over London's iconic skyline. DJ Fat Tony heads up a stellar line-up of music and entertainment for a day party like no other. Brunch isn't brunch without its food and drink, and with canapés and Moët flowing you won't be going hungry.
Honey Bunny at Be At One
We all love to make the most of the Be At One Happy Hours, right? And this weekend there's absolutely no excuse to call it a day after one (not that we do very often...) This Easter they're upping their chocolatey cocktail game with the Honey Bunny. A mix of Mozart Dark Chocolate, honeycomb pieces and ice cream, served in a Be At One Easter egg box with a Crunchie chocolate bar. YUM.
Cheese Town - London
If your more of a savory than a sweet-toothed kinda person (no shame here) and endless supplies of chocolate just doesn't cut it for you, then London Cheese Two is here to save your BHW. The team at Grate Expectations are bringing you the third installment of their unique food festival Cheese Town for the Easter Weekend.
CocoBunny at Dirty Martini
Dirty Martini are back with another _egg_cellent Easter offering in the form of the CocoBunny cocktail. And to make things even more _egg_citing, it's vegan. The cocktail combines Absolut Vanilla Vodka, Crème De Cacao mixed with cacao powder, Oatly cream, Oatly chocolate drink, Vegan coconut cream foam and Ombar chocolate buttons.
Sister Act Live Choir in Birmingham
For a feel-good, uplifting Easter day out, head to Birmingham's Symphony Hall to watch the classic Sister Act, in HD, on a huge screen whilst a full-piece gospel choir and band accompany the on-screen nuns sing hit songs from the film's original soundtrack LIVE!
Easter Egg Flip at Aviary
There's something about a rooftop bar that just makes cocktails taste so much nicer and this Easter we're indulging in the Easter Egg Flip at Aviary. An orangey chocolatey delight containing Mozart Chocolate Vodka, Drambuie, Cointreau, salted caramel, egg and orange bitters, in a chocolate covered glass, garnished with orange flakes and tonka bean in crumble form.
Project Midnight and Beyond - A Spring festival
Chase the rabbit down underground this bank holiday weekend to find non-stop live music, curiously creative cocktails and California Cones at Studio 88. There'll be live music from 8pm till 2am followed by a DJ until 4am playing everything you want to hear.Party goers can also take part in the egg hunt. Find one of the hidden Easter eggs, take it to the bar and crack it to find out if you've won a prize or you've made a yolk of yourself.
