Celebrity Big Brother has been going for less than a day, but already there’s been a major scandal over homophobic comments made by housemate Winston McKenzie.
Fans who watched last night’s launch heard the former UKIP spokesman in his video introduction saying he’d “just have to” deal with any gay housemates he came across (pun very much intended).
“I could cope with a homosexual in the house – I guess I'll just have to and with my back against a brick wall all the time,” he said.
Wow. This is the same guy who quit UKIP after claiming he experienced racial discrimination, so really… what’s going on Winny?
The 62-year-old dickhead politician – do we still call them politicians if they don’t actually stand in any political party? One to muse on – was booed by the crowd as he went into the house, wearing a quite fabulous leopard-print coat and the shiniest patent leather shoes we’ve ever seen.
BBBOTS presenter Rylan Clark obviously had a lot to say about Winston’s remarks, telling the camera: “I'm already having a brick wall made for his eviction, just in case.”
Roffle.
So how’s Winston going to cope with the very-much-not-straight John Partridge? John, who’s been in a civil partnership with fellow actor Jon Tsouras, for the last four years? John, who’s so lovely he’s using his CBB fee to pay for his mum’s Alzheimer’s care?
Something tells us Winston’s not going to last very long in there…
