To celebrate the release of The DUFF, here are heat’s Top 10 high school movies of all time

Why is it that going to high school in the movies seems so much more fun than it is in real life?

There are food fights in the canteen, soapsuds in the water fountains, and plenty of make-out sessions in the locker room.

Yes, sometimes it can be tough – you have to fight your way through all the clichés: jocks, mean girls, geeks, rockers, to name but a few.

And yes, if you find out from the school man-whore (another classic stereotype) that you’re a cliché too; you’re a DUFF, you might feel like chucking your education away.

Which is what happens to poor ol’ Bianca Piper (Mae Whitman, The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, Arrested Development) in brilliant new comedy The DUFF.

But instead of accepting her DUFF crown and throwing in the towel, Bianca decides to save her senior year from being a total disaster by reinventing herself with the help of man-whore… oops, we mean Wesley (Robbie Amell).
