Tough on fruit, tough on the causes of fruit. That's how the Colorado police roll. Nathan Channing, 27, a "Youtube prankster" (so we're already on the police's side) cleverly thought he would point his banana at them, and they arrested him. By "his banana", by the way, we don't mean anything else. It's not a euphemism. It was an actual banana, made out of fruit.
Did we mention Nathan is from a town called Fruitvale? No word of a lie. And the officer who arrested him was called Joshua Bunch. IT JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER. "I immediately ducked in my patrol car," said Officer Bunch, "and accelerated continuing northbound, fearing that it was a weapon. Based on training and experience, I have seen handguns in many shapes and colours and perceived this to be a handgun."
Despite declaring his credentials as a fully qualified online-video japester, Channing was sent to jail on a charge of "felony menacing", with bail set at $10,000. If he's found guilty, he could face three years in prison.
Even Dapper Laughs didn't get that.
(Or commit any crimes, we hasten to point out.)
(Though he may have eaten a banana.)
