Bad news Game Of Thrones fans. It looks like the HBO show is set to end after the eighth series.

HBO president Michael Lombardo revealed at the TCAs press tour that showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss have a firm plan on when to end the series.

"I think seven seasons and out has never been the conversation; the question is how much beyond the seventh season are we going to do," Michael explained.

"[The producers are] feeling like there's probably two more years after six. I would love for them to change their minds, but that's what we're looking at right now."

But it’s not all doom and gloom (unlike the actual show). There might be a prequel,

WOO HOO!

"I would be open to anything [the producers] want to do," Michael insisted. "There's enormous storytelling to be mined in a prequel… At this point, all the focus is on figuring out the next few years with this show."
