2016 was a pretty bleak year for Great British Bake Off fans.
Love Productions announced a big move from BBC One to Channel 4, and with that a period of much uncertainty followed. News unravelled that our favourite stars of the show, Mel Giedroyc, Sue Perkins and Mary Berry would not be joining Paul Hollywood in the journey over to the 'other side’, and it was all a bit scary.
To be totally honest, it’s actually turned out to be a pretty seamless transition and we’re kinda loving the new series with Paul, Sandi Toksvig, Noel Fielding and Prue Leith.
BUT for dramatic effect and the purpose of this article it was a dark, dark time, and the only shining beacon of light was laidback contestant and FIT LORD Selasi Gbormittah.
And now you can get your very own little piece of Selasi delivered straight to your door. In a non-weird way….
He’s launched his own pop-up bakery, Selasi’s Bakes, and teamed with on-demand delivery service Deliveroo to create four exclusive cupcakes.
“I’m so excited to be launching Selasi’s Bakes on Deliveroo,” the GBBO star explained.
“I wanted people to be able to enjoy my cupcakes as much as I enjoy baking them – hopefully, they will agree that they taste like little bites of heaven.”
The cupcakes come in four different flavours: chocolate orange, raspberry vanilla, strawberry vanilla and coconut, passion fruit and mango. Each cake is handmade and toped with a real edible flour.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Selasi, giving him the tools to make a dream come true, by opening his very first bakery,” a spokesperson for Deliveroo revealed.
“Our customers are always looking for something different when searching for their next food fix and we’re confident that the talented Selasi will prove extremely popular this week.”
Selasi’s Bakes will be sold through Deliveroo Editions and cost £15 for four cupcakes.
