Still stumped on what to buy your little brother, sister or boyfriend who is still full of childlike wonder this Christmas? Well, we might have found just the thing...

Mario, Luigi and co are back with the rest of the Nintendo gang in Super Smash Brothers on Wii U - a fighting game starring classic gaming characters.

And what better way to bond as a family this Christmas/settle the raging disputes over who gets the last purple one from the Quality Street tin, than by beating the living heck out of each other using twee Nintendo characters?

But that’s not all,* Super Smash Brothers* only recently made its way onto the Wii U, so now you can destroy your family/have delightful party fun in glorious HD.

Nintendo have also just launched twelve amibo, which are cool figurines from the game, such as Mario, Donkey Kong, Pikachu and even the Wii Fit trainer!

But they don’t just look cool, the models also activate special features in* Super Smash Brothers* and other Nintendo games. By tapping an amiibo figure on the Wii U GamePad, you'll pop a special version of them into Smash Brothers, they’ll then accumulate their own stats and get even better over time.

Meanwhile, games such as Mario Kart 8 or Hyrule Warriors will give you bonus content, such as extra outfits or secret weapons. So far there’s twelve amiibo available, including Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Link, Fox, Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Pikachu, Kirby and Marth.

Annnd there’s even more coming on December 19 - including Zelda, Luigi, Diddy Kong, Little Mac, Pit and Captain Falcon. Plus, even more figures will launch throughout 2015. Good huh?

Head to the amiibo website for more info. Or over to Amazon to pick up one - or more!
