If you’re like us, the time spent not eating food is spent planning food, day dreaming about food, or lusting over delicious recipes on Insta.

Christmas is the best excuse to happily over-indulge in the tastiest treats you can find, and we are so ready. Obviously, we’re off to the annual Kardashian Christmas Eve bash this year – our invite is CLEARLY just lost in the post somewhere – but if we weren’t, this is what our ideal Chrimbo feast would look like:

Starter

It’s an Australian custom to have prawns on Christmas Day and, if it’s good enough for the fitlords that are the Hemsworth brothers, then it’s sure as hell good enough for us.

A seafood starter is light enough precede a roast and will whet your appetite. Aldi’s Tiger Prawns are juicy and succulent, but why stop there? We’re talking scallops, salmon soufflé (cheese and pastry = life complete)… even lobster in a prepared lemon mousse, if you’re feeling fancy. With Aldi’s great deals, we’re all Iggy, right now (I’m so fancy).

Main – Meat (or not, as the case may be)

Aldi’s large turkeys can serve up to SIXTEEN people. And, if that's not enough, the essence of Christmas dinner is definitely doubling the meat. Poussin stuffed with cognac and orange? Yep. Or, even better, a five bird roast. Five different birds. One roast. YAAAAAS.

If you’re of the vegetarian variety (sorry about our last comment), we’ve still got your back. Vegetarian wellington, oozing with mushroom, brie and cranberry is an explosion of taste. For something a little more traditional, the goats’ cheese and sautéed seasoned root veg bake would be right up your street.

Main – Sides

If you’re not drooling already, OMG, the sides are where it’s at: British pork stuffed with the most incredible combinations of fruit - orange, cranberry and apricot to name just a few; red cabbage in ruby port and sprouts with bacon and chestnuts sprinkles to give veg a new lease of life; marmalade chipolata sausages… the list goes on.

All veggies are delivered fresh to store every day, right up to Christmas. You can get a few extra treats with Aldi's Super 6 too - six fresh fruit and veg offers - so even the most veg-phobic family members will want a slice of the action.

Dessert & Drinks

“Now bring us some figgy pudding and a cup of good cheer!” Man alive, Aldi take this shiz to the next level: croquemboche (basically a massive profiterole), mince pie and ginger bread ice cream, Tuscan prosecco panettone …

Wash away your sins with a collection of wines, Irish whisky and port. Brewed to perfection, each drop is packed with flavour and full of heritage.

For those with a sweet tooth, Tamova Liqueurs Salted Caramel Vodka and Aldi’s own Chocolate Irish Cream Liqueur will warm your cockles*. As warm (read: hot) as Mr Efron standing by a burning log fire. Yum.
