Our favourite pastry provider has teamed up with UberEats and is trialling a home delivery servivce.
They've just started the trial in Newcastle, so the Geordies are the first to enjoy the revelation, but if it goes well – which we desperately hope it will - then it'll kick off in loads of other cities around the UK.
YAAAY.
So, you’ll soon be able to have your favourite steak bakes and sausage rolls delivered to your door.
Greggs is one of our faves for on-the-go food and unless you actually live in the middle of nowhere, you're probably only a few metres from a store.
And now it’s becoming even more convenient.
FINALLY some good news - especially after the recent sausage roll saga when, without any kind of warning, Greggs upped the price of their sausage rolls by 5p.
They also raised the price of their premium breakfast meal deal (comprising a sausage, bacon or egg roll and a hot drink or fresh juice), by 25p.
They claimed that it was due to increased costs of their ingredients, but now that home delivery's on the cards, we might just be able to forgive them.
Apparently, Greggs already runs its own delivery service in Newcastle, London and Manchester, (but it’s mainly for offices that do bulk orders).
AND they’ve opened their first Drive Thru. Exciting times for Greggs, eh?
With UberEats, we'll be able to have Greggs breakfasts, drinks, sandwiches, salads, sausage rolls and bakes delivered in 30 mins. Delivery does cost £2.50, but there’s no minimum spend.
Well, this may just be about to revolutionise our Sunday hangovers.
