What lovely news to be waking up to on this dark Friday morning.

ITV has confirmed that filming will begin in February 2016 for a brand new series of Cold Feet. How cool is that?

Cold Feet previously ran for five series from 1997 – 2003, with the main characters made up of couples Adam and Rachel (James Nesbitt and Helen Baxendale), Pete and Jenny (John Thomson and Fay Ripley), and Karen and David (Hermione Norris and Robert Bathurst).

The upcoming sixth series will be eight episodes long and feature all of the original actors bar Helen because, well, you know… Rachel died.

Creator Mike Bullen said: "This feels like the right time to revisit these characters as they tip-toe through the minefield of middle age.

"They're 50 but they still feel 30, apart from on the morning after the night before, when they really feel their age.

"They've still got lots of life to look forward to, though they're not necessarily the years one looks forward to!"
