Ex-Skins star Jack O’Connell and Wolf Of Wall Street’s Margot Robbie are among five emerging actors to be nominated for a career-defining gong.

The full list of nominees for the prestigious BAFTA 2015 EE Rising Star Award has been released ahead of the glittering event, and there are some faces in there that you’ll probably recognise.

Jack, who recently starred in Angelina Jolie’s first directed feature film Unbroken, is up there, alongside Margot, who played Leonardo DiCaprio’s sizzling wife in the 2013 blockbuster.

Other names on the list are Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who caught audiences’ attention in 2013’s Belle and last year’s Beyond The Lights.

Miles Teller is also up for the impressive award – you’ll want to see him in the upcoming Whiplash (which, as it happens, we’re doing a free heat readers’ screening for – pick up this week’s issue of heat mag for more info!), as is Shailene Woodley for her star performance in The Fault In Our Stars – the film, alongside Wolf Of Wall Street, which was voted by heat readers as the BEST in 2014.

The nominees were voted by a star panel of judges – including none other than heat’s very own film buff Charles Gant – and represent the five most exceptional actors currently emerging.

Previous winners of the award include James McAvoy, who went on to be nominated for two more BAFTAs.

You can vote for your Rising Star award winner right here.

Now see what heat’s Charles had to say about each of the nominees:

Margot Robbie1 of 5

Margot Robbie

“heat readers have just voted The Wolf Of Wall Street as their favourite film of 2014 in our annual readers' poll. Good choice! Aussie actress Margot really holds her own against Leonardo DiCaprio in that film, and is set for big things.”

Jack O'Connell2 of 5

Jack O'Connell

“It’s really been Jack’s year, with three amazing performances in movies Starred Up, 71 and Unbroken. heat has been rooting for Jack ever since we fell in love with him in Skins on TV, and it’s great to see the Derby lad making it big in Hollywood.”

Shailene Woodley3 of 5

Shailene Woodley

“The list of nominees this year could have been invented by heat. The Fault In Our Stars came second in the readers poll for Best Movie. And of course Shailene also leads the Divergent franchise. Comparisons with Jennifer Lawrence are merited.”

Miles Teller4 of 5

Miles Teller

“I think a lot of people have confused the semi-obnoxious characters he plays in 21 And Over and That Awkward Moment with the real Miles Teller. He’s acting, and he’s awesome in his new film Whiplash, which opens later this month.”

Gugu Mbatha-Raw5 of 5

Gugu Mbatha-Raw

“Gugu is probably the least famous of this year’s nominees, as her movie Belle wasn’t a huge hit last year. But this award is about spotlighting rising talent, and Gugu has the charisma and screen presence to carry audiences with her.”
