Jamie Dornan’s dad gushes: ‘We’re all so proud of him!’

Jamie Dornan’s dad Jim has spoken about the pride he feels in his son for his role in Fifty Shades Of Grey.

Jamie took up the role of Christian Grey in the first film version of the saucy books by E L James. And despite the raunchy nature of the flick – who wants to see their son getting down and dirty, eh? – Jim said he was proud of his son’s involvement in the film.

“I thought the director (Sam Taylor Johnson) did very well. You can only work with the materials you’re given, which is a great line,” Jim told RTE Radio 1. “I know it’s a weird thing to say about your son but he’s one of the nicest people I know. He a good guy.”

And what about the rest of the family?

“He is quite influential in the family and always was,” Jim added. “He’s solid, a very grounded boy. A good lad…He’s sisters are very proud of him - we all are. He’s held himself well.”

Jim also joked that Jamie’s global brought rather random perks, saying: “The best part of the whole thing is the world now knows how to spell Dornan, I spent 40 years spelling it correctly to people.”

It’s still not confirmed whether Jamie will return to his role in the Fifty Shades franchise (there are still two films to go) and since Sam Taylor Johnson walked out last month, the rumour mills gone wild.

An insider told the Sunday Times: "The truth is that Jamie plans to do all three and very much with the backing of his family,” but Jamie’s yet to sign on the dotted line.

It won’t be long until he’s back on our screens however as it’s confirmed Jamie’s returning to his role as serial killer Paul Spector for a third series of The Fall.
