The Jump (Channel 4, Sunday, 7pm)
It’s what we’ve all been waiting for: Joey Essex in a lycra ski outfit, trying to do snowboarding and stuff. Or perhaps even more excitingly, Dom out of Steph & Dom off Gogglebox in an après ski situation. Glühwein will be glugged. Yes these and other celebrities (namely Ashley Roberts, Chloe Madeley, Heather Mills, JB from JLS, Jodie Kidd, Joey Essex, paralympian Jon-Allan Butterworth, Lady Victoria Hervey, Louie Spence, heptathlete Louise Hazel, Made In Chelsea star Louise Thompson, ex-England rugby captain Mike Tindall, ex-cricketer Phil Tufnell, Stacey Solomon and Jackass’ Steve-O) are taking part in the second series of The Jump, stripped across the Channel 4 schedule for the next 8 nights. This time there are loads more Winter sports events to be attempted by the contestants, and it’ll all be held together in fine style by Davina McCall.
** The Voice (BBC1, Saturday, 7pm)**
It’s the fourth round of blind auditions and it seems like Ricky Wilson has already filled up most of his team. Good on him for getting so excited and enthusiastic, though. Tonight he and the other coaches will run their rules over a dude called Tim Arnold, who’s known as “the Soho Hobo” and has been a legendary singing/songwriting fixture in that part of London for years. There’s also trumpet-playing Dawn Allen. Just when you thought it was all supposed to be about their voices…
Last Tango In Halifax (BBC1, Sunday, 9pm)
It’s the last in what has been a totally brilliant third series of this Sally Wainwright drama, and this finale boldly takes place three months on from the end of the previous episode, as everyone gathers for the wedding of Gillian (Nicola Walker) to dodgy Robbie (Dean Andrews). But she can’t even leave the bathroom, let alone the house, to make her way to the actual ceremony. Will she get over her jitters? I won’t spoilt it, suffice to say that along the way we get some all-time great scenes between Gillian and Sarah Lancashire’s ever-outspoken Caroline.
And don’t forget… It’s a major sporting event with bewildering rulesand it goes on for hours, but right in the middle of The Super Bowl (Channel 4, Sunday, 10.30pm) there is of course the cultural event that is the Half Time Show, which this year features Katy Perry. She’s promising to knock our socks off so it might be worth staying up for.
