There have been rumours going around for a while now that there’s going to be a Downton Abbey film once the TV series finishes after it’s upcoming sixth series.
And now the show’s creator, Julian Fellowes, has added even more fuel to that lovely Downton-film fire by saying the show could well have “some afterlife”.

"It wouldn't surprise me if it had some afterlife because it's been such a strong force. But it's definitely finished on television. That's it," he said at a special BAFTA event for the series last night.
He added that now is the right time to finish the TV series, saying: "I think it's right to stop when people are sorry and not when people are relieved."
Julian also said that he will definitely be involved with whatever direction Downton takes. "I'm not sure I could trust my baby to another nurse!" he joked.
Downton Abbey is expected to return to ITV for its final series next month. With the 2015 Christmas special being the last episode ever. Sob.
