January is traditionally the unhappiest month of the year so us chirpy lot decided we’d ask you guys where you thought we’d ask you a few questions about happiness in general.
The poll of 1121 people revealed London to be the UK’s happiest city, closely followed by its Southern counterparts Canterbury and Oxford.
Alan Carr was voted comedian most likely to make you happy closely followed by Michael McIntyre and Jack Whitehall, meanwhile Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off was voted happiest song ahead of Pharrell’s aptly named Happy and One Direction’s 2014 hit Steal My Girl.
Olly Murs took the title for Happiest Celebrity closely followed by Geordie duo Ant & Dec, stony-faced rapper Kanye West is the celeb most people thought needed cheering up along with actress Kristen Stewart.
Asked to nominate their happiest moment of 2014, the public opted for Prince George doing anything at all, the much replicated Oscar’s selfie and Kate and Wills announcing their second pregnancy.
Commenting on the findings heat’s Lucie Cave said: "Here at heat we've raised the art of making people happy to a science. Our happiness survey confirms what we knew all along: Ant and Dec and Olly Murs are good for the soul, and Kanye West could do with a chuckle. Other results came as a surprise: who knew southerners were happier than those oop north?"
