Louis Tomlinson could become the next Simon Cowell if his people have anything to do with it – he’s reportedly looking to become a talent show judge when One Direction go on their one-year break next year.
After sources revealed the band will be going on hiatus from March 2016 – and won’t even be touring their final album – Sun reporter Dan Wootten pointed out that Louis could be going back to his roots.
Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine this morning, Dan outlined some of Louis’ solo career plans. “Louis [is] very likely to be part of The X Factor next year in some form of role. I think potentially it could be some sort of judge role,” he said.
“The guys met up last week and what they have decided on at the moment is for it to be officially a one-year hiatus, and I think to be honest even the people who are very close to the band admit that at this point it is really just too hard to say [whether their break will be permanent].”
Louis himself has said in the recent past that he’d love to be involved with The X Factor. In an interview with Key 103 radio station, he said:
“You can’t deny the opportunity that it gave to us boys, and for that reason I’ll always be fascinated by the process and the opportunities that it gives to people, so it’s just trying to emulate that. The fact that I’m in the position where I can potentially give people an opportunity, that’s a refreshing great feeling.”
He added that as soon as the band finished their album, he would “wait and see” about working on a talent show.
Things is though… what kind of judge would Louis make?
