Has watching the John Lewis Christmas advert made you hungry for more materialistic yet heartwarming fun?
Well, then you’ll be pleased to know that the only-marginally-less-eagerly-anticipated Marks and Spencer’s advert is here and just like it’s high-end superstore counterpart, it provokes feelings of unadulterated festive joy.
Bearing the tagline “Christmas is better with Magic & Sparkle” - M&S, geddit? - the advert follows the story of two women who use a bewitched ticket to turn themselves into red-cheeked fairies who fly around the city dispensing love and happiness.
Familiar examples of Yuletide miracles are present, such as making it snow and ensuring that true love happens.
But kudos to the producers who have been extra imaginative and showcased some less orthodox examples, such as returning cats to their owners and helping couples to function better by giving them silky lingerie.
It undoubtedly provokes feelings of warmth, happiness and covetousness for M&S dresses, but does it beat John Lewis's offering? Let us know!
