Last night (Monday 9 February) we met the cast of Taking New York for the very first time – and there were some semi-recognisable faces in there, if we’re not mistaken.
So who are these twenty-somethings taking E4’s primetime Monday night spot – a slot usually reserved for the likes of Made In Chelsea – and why do we need to keep watching?

What does she do?Curator/art director.What's her story?Moved to Brooklyn after a month-long internship at an art gallery. Megan is her twin.She says:"The crew have become a family to me - I'll be gutted to see them leave."

What does he do? Model.What's his story? Aussie Ben lives with Jamie and Danny in trendy Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where they have a "revolving door when it comes to the ladies".He says: "We all think in a similar way and all like to party the same way."

What does he do? Model.What's his story? He used to live in London with fellow model chum Ben, but decided to move to New York five years ago. He's known to have girlfriends on a 'one-year cycle'. He says: "I like everyone on the cast, whch is boring - so I should probably pick someone to hate."

What does he do? Gagan co-owns a printing company and is opening a new bar. On a boat. What's his story? The 27-year-old Mancunian is mates with Sophie and counts himself single (for now). He says: "NYC is the perfect city for any young single guy."

What does she do? Creative co-ordinator (whatever the hell that is). What's her story? The 24-year-old is nicknamed 'the Hurricane' because of her forceful views.She says: "I miss my horse the most..."

What does he do? Model and club promoter. Henry recently arrived in NY and he's already BFFs with Ben, Jamie and Dan. He says: "I miss my dog the most, no questions asked... sorry, Mum."

What does he do? He's an actor with INCREDIBLE eyebrows. What's his story? James was doing well in the West End, then moved to New York two years ago after falling for a guy he'd met on holiday. They broke up but James is still out there, waiting for his big break. He says: "Everyone in NYC dates multiple at once, which can be confusing."

What does he do? Model. What's his story? Lives with Ben and Danny. He only owns three pairs of jeans, four shirts and one pair of boots. He says: "I recently wrote a monologue about the troubles of living in New York and noticing the judgement of others."

What does she do? She's a business graduate. What's her story? She's moved to the Big Apple to be near her twin sister Amy, who she surprises in the city in Episode 1. She says: "I am CONSTANTLY getting lost!"

What does she do? Special events producer What's her story? She's a posh former journalist but moved to Manhattan three years ago for a new challenge and networked her way into being a party planner for the city's elite.
15 of 15Sumner
What does she do? Model/presenter/blogger.What's her story? She moved to NY after winning America's Next Top Model and scoring a US contract. She says: "I feel like a little kid who's been given a big shiny key to the ultimate playground."
