She is about to be seen in her first role since she left the soap – in new BBC drama Ordinary Lies.
Michelle told the Daily Star: “I felt there was so much pressure after leaving Corrie. I knew I had to make the right decision about my first role.
“Everyone was waiting to see what I did and getting ready to judge me if I made a mistake.
“I am really nervous about how it does in the ratings. I do feel a lot of pressure but I just hope it does well.
“But I know the producers and BBC are very happy with the outcome so hopefully the viewers will like it too.”
And the actress doesn’t want people to compare her new character, Tracy, to Tina.
She said: “There are a few similarities to Tina as she is a young, northern, feisty girl but that was inevitable. The storyline is completely different and gritty.”
