Are you pregnant and fighting with your partner over what to call your child? Or have you given birth and you're still staring at your baby like, 'We really need to name this child'. Well, don't worry because we have got your covered! Have a read of this: the list of the most popular baby names of 2019 as revealed by the BabyCentre.

The parenting website has been studying the baby register for the past six months and tallied up the most popular baby names for girls and boys.

Lorna Marsh, the senior editor at BabyCentre, said, 'We are seeing a real rise in strong and stable names, especially those with a 1980s twist. Perhaps this is why parents of baby Michaels and Maxines are compensating for the current turmoil with solid 80s choices'.

Holding the top spot for the girls is Olivia and Sophia, who have held onto a number one ranking for a second year in a row, having also topped 2018's most popular names. Lily has overtaken Amelia and Freya entered the top 10 for the first time EVER!

For the boys, Muhammad tops the list with Noah taking over Oliver as a close second. Perhaps inspired by the future King, the name George has climbed up the list to third place, with Oliver coming fourth.

BabyCentre revealed POLITICS is even inspiring new baby names as one set of parents named their child 'Blair Margaret. And the Love Island and Game of Thrones hype cannot be ignored as names such as Amber, Kem, Marcel and Arya feature on in the top 20! Obviously, 'BEV' didn't catch on like Lucie Donlan had hoped!

Are there any names on this list that has caught your fancy?🍼
