Given birth recently or due to have a little one in the coming months? You may want to read this if you're still pondering what to call your baby as the most popular baby names of 2017 in England and Wales have been announced.
According to a new report from the Office for National Statistics, the most popular name for a girl in 2017 was Olivia, with Oliver being the most popular choice for a boy. Nick Strip from the Office for National Statistics said, "Although Oliver and Olivia remained the most popular baby names in 2017, some fascinating changes took place beneath them."
The names Olivia and Oliver topped the list for the second year in a row, with boy names Harry and Jack also showing no signs of losing popularity.

As well as the names above, there were six new entries into the Top 10 girls list, with Hallie, Lyla, Aurora, Orla, Bonnie and Edith all making the list. Meanwhile, if you are a fan of the name Sarah it's bad news! Despite being the most popular name throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Sarah has dropped out of the top 100 for the first time in history.
Muhammed made the number 10 spot in the boys' list, but according to reports, if all variations of spellings were considered, the name would be as popular as Oliver.
